Andi and Jag, creators of mayan-calendar-code.com hosted the DayKeepers Workshop twice in 2007. Both workshops were completely sold out. The couple interviewed Dr. Calleman to hear how he would describe this workshop in his own words.

This interview was recorded prior to the first live online DayKeeper Workshop. This interview gives you a birdseye view into to what the DayKeeper Workshop is all about from Carl himself. We thought you'd enjoy hearing this, even though the dates at the end of the interview have gone by.

Meet The Scientist --- About Dr. Carl Johan Calleman

Carl Johan Calleman first became interested in the Mayan calendar during a trip to Mexico and Guatemala in 1979 as he heard about its intriguing end date.

Since 1993, he has been working full time to research and disseminate information about this calendar through lectures and talks.

He is considered by many as the world's foremost expert on the meaning of the Mayan calendar. His books include The Mayan Calendar (Garev, 2001) and The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness (Bear and Co, 2004) as well as the Mayan Calendar Almanac he publishes on a yearly basis.

What distinguishes Calleman's work is his strong scientific background, originally having been trained by members of the Nobel Committees. Carl Johan Calleman has a Ph.D. in Physical Biology from the University of Stockholm and has published extensively in the field of Toxicology and Environmental Health. He was a Senior Researcher at the University of Washington in Seattle during the years 1986-93, and during his twenty-year career as a laboratory scientist, he served as an expert on cancer for the World Health Organization.
